On March 23,WAM, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the importance of adhering to international agreements that help preserve the marine environment and its natural resources, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, and His Highness's constant keenness to ensure that the emirate be an international center for refueling ships, storing petroleum materials, and providing the best marine services.
This came during the opening of the 12th Fujairah Virtual International Refueling Forum "FUJCON 2021", which is held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, and the presence of Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, head of the Department of Industry and Economy in Fujairah, organized by the participation of more than 400 participants from specialists and those interested in the field of refueling representing 36 countries worldwide.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah said that the importance of holding the forum for this session comes against the backdrop of the challenges posed by the Covid 19 pandemic on the marine and fuel industries and their impact on the crude oil markets, where the forum will provide an ideal virtual platform for participants to share their views, analysis and opinions on developments in the global fuel and fuel market and discuss future solutions after the end of this global epidemic.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi pointed out the importance of Fujairah's role in attracting international energy forums, given its position as a major platform attracting major local, regional, and international companies working in the fields of energy supply and storage, wishing participants in the virtual forum to come up with decisions and results that will develop global trends in the oil industry and overcome the challenges faced by this sector in light of the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic.
In the keynote address of the forum, H.E. Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Fares Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, stressed the importance of the UAE's overall strategy in the energy sector in diversifying its resources and developing it, and finding various solutions in addition to traditional energy to support sustainable development in the country, noting the importance of the strategic location of the Emirate of Fujairah, which contributed to being at the forefront of the world in the sources of energy, oil industry and storage.
Al Mazrouei reviewed the UAE's strategy in the field of clean energy, including hydrogen, where it witnessed remarkable progress thanks to the use of modern technology, and became a major competitor to the traditional energy sectors, pointing out the importance of recent discoveries of natural gas within the country and its role in the process of supporting economic development.
H.E. Eng. Mohammed Obaid bin Majid, President of the Conference, opened the conference with a welcoming speech to the participants and stressed the role of the Government of Fujairah under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, on the emirate to be an important platform for discussion on the latest issues and opportunities in the oil industry, pointing out the importance of the forum as a global event discussing the latest developments in the field of fuel and storage, especially in light of the circumstances of the spread of the Corona pandemic.
Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of holding the Virtual FUJCON 2021 forum under the circumstances of many countries of the world, pointing out that the forum is a global event and is one of the most important conferences in the Middle East, where it attracts companies specialized in the field of refueling ships and many experts and analysts in the oil and gas markets.
Al Kindi said the forum will dedicate a session to the Emirate of Fujairah to review the latest developments carried out by the emirate as a global energy center, hoping that the forum will contribute to paving the way for enhancing trade opportunities and growth in the emirate after COVID-19.
It is worth mentioning that the Fujairah International Refueling Forum "FUJCON" is held every two years under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah and enjoys a large gathering, and includes a group of experts and specialists from fuel suppliers and derivatives, fuel ship suppliers, station operators, refineries and ship owners.
The opening of the virtual forum was attended by H.E.
