Fujairah, April 11 (WAM) - His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, affirmed the leading position of the Emirate of Fujairah in the culture and arts sector, and its important role in supporting theater in general, and the art of monodrama in particular. This came during His Highness' attendance at the opening ceremony of the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, at the Creative Centre Theater in Fujairah, in the presence of Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi, His Excellency Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Egyptian Minister of Culture, guest of honor of the festival, Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, and His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Amiri Diwan in Fujairah and Chairman of the Committee.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah pointed to the keenness of the Emirate of Fujairah, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, to support and sponsor cultural and artistic projects that enhance the emirate's presence in the Arab world and globally through cultural openness to all creative experiences and highlighting common human values among the peoples of the world. His Highness noted the importance of the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival since its inception in attracting playwrights and artists from around the world, through the most important and prominent monodrama works, which raise many humanitarian and social topics of interest to the individual wherever he is, open the horizons of civilizational dialogue between different cultures, and contribute to promoting the values of coexistence, understanding and openness to the other.
His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al-Dhanhani, director of the Amiri Diwan in Fujairah and chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the festival, said in his speech during the opening ceremony :"His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Fujairah, wanted this festival to be an oasis that increases the outpouring of your love, solidarity, discussions and suggestions, so he wrote to him to continue and shine and become a great artistic cultural council that can accommodate all nationalities of the Earth, and for Fujairah to be the enlightening cognitive complement to the UAE cultural project". Al-Dhanhani added: “The Supreme Organizing Committee of the festival, with the support and direct follow-up from the patron of the cultural movement in Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, has been keen to establish a more effective course, and a more comprehensive cultural dimension, achieving the main goal and vision of the festival, as it provides a different state of art celebration that ensures its continuation, and expands its Arab and international audience so that the monodrama is close to people reflecting their concerns, expanding their perceptions, transmitting the pulse of the street and confirming Fujairah's leadership in this ancient art.
H.E. Tobias Bianconi, Director General of ITC, said: "Fujairah is moving forward with all its efforts to become a unique global center for arts and art education, and by attracting those interested in culture, arts and theatre from around the world, and providing opportunities to learn artistic skills, Fujairah will undoubtedly be a prominent global hub for arts and art education." His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah honored the sponsors of the festival and its supporting partners. The opening ceremony included a musical theatrical performance entitled "From Fujairah to the Sunrise", which reviewed artistic, theatrical and lyrical paintings about Fujairah and its cultural history. The opening was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, and a large gathering of playwrights, artists and interested people from inside and outside Fujairah.
