On February 24, WAM, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed al-Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, confirmed the interest of the UAE's leading leadership in the cultural and literary scene in the UAE and the Arab world, referring to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, to activate cultural and creative activity in the Emirate and to provide all the possibilities that make Fujairah an environment for creativity in all fields.
This came during the honoring of his Highness the winners of the second edition of the "Rashid Bin Hamad Al-Sharqi Prize for Creativity" with its nine branches, which are held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi during the awards ceremony held at the Grand Corniche Theatre on Fujairah Beach.
His Highness appreciated the role played by the Rashid Bin Hamad Prize for Creativity in highlighting the output of young thinkers, innovators, publishers, and building bridges of communication and openness between them.
He expressed his pride in the level of the award despite its modernity in honoring the literary production and issuing it to the Arab intellectual, cultural and literary scene.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamad al-Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Media, Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad al-Sharqi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al-Sharqi, Head of the Department of E-Government in Fujairah, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif al-Sharqi.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Sharqi, honored H.E. Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan for his role in supporting culture and arts in the UAE.
He praised the efforts of the award's sponsors and the role of the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Media, headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, in upgrading the cultural product on innovative grounds and standards.

His Highness received the first issue of the sheikh Rashid prize for creativity, which was presented by Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, who praised the keenness of the wise leadership of the UAE to pay attention to literature and culture, which is reflected in the constant support it provides to creators from all countries of the world, especially the youth category, whether it is financial support or morally, that is reflected in the huge qualitative initiatives that the UAE is working on.
He praised the guidance of His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah and his keenness to support intellectuals and innovators and to follow up diligently with His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al-Danhani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Rashid Bin Hamad Al-Sharqi Prize for Creativity, said the award is a huge cultural project that celebrates thought, literature, and its industry, and was launched by the Fujairah Authority for Culture and Media at the initiative of Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al-Sharqi.
He said that the management of the award was keen to dedicate ideas and expand efforts to be a leading cultural model in the Arab region and the world, and we sought through it to attract innovators from different countries to participate in their scientific, and literary production in the various fields of competition offered by the award, and celebrate them and their work to contribute to enriching the Arab Library with new and creative works, and to consolidate the place of Arabic literature on the map of world literature.
He added that the management of the award was keen to achieve its presence, spread and praised the awards and international tours that bring the distances closer, and enhance the status of the award with its befitting and its objectives, and the results of this were to provide thousands to participate from different countries of the Arab world, India, and some countries in the African continent. He pointed out that the number of works submitted to participate in all fields of the award reached 3,100 participants qualified, of which 1,888 were seen by the jury in the nine branches of the award.
For his part, Talib Al Rifai, Chairman of the Jury, stressed the importance of the Fujairah International Arts Festival and its role in supporting creativity. He pointed out the role of Sheikh Rashid bin Hamad al-Sharqi in supporting the arts and creativity, and the appreciation of the role of the jury in the award and its active contribution to the selection of the winners of the award in an atmosphere of objectivity and transparency.
During the ceremony, a short film about the award was screened that highlighted its categories and objectives, and introduced its role in supporting Arab writers and creators, attracting competitors in its various literary and cultural fields, while the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts participated in the ceremony with a ballet dance presented by the Ballet School.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Salem Al Zahami, H.E. Mohammed Saif Al-Afkham, Director of Fujairah Municipality, and a number of managers from the local and federal governments in Fujairah.
