On January 13, 2011, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed al-Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, chairman of the Environment Authority, presided over the presidency of the Environment Authority. The second periodic meeting of the board members, during which the proposal for the estimated budget of the Environment Authority for 2021 was discussed and the mechanism of integrating the environmental sections in Fujairah municipality and Dibba municipality and the proposed environmental projects that serve the uae's national agenda to promote sustainable development 2030.
His Highness stressed that the Emirate of Fujairah, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed al-Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council, governor of Fujairah, seeks to apply protective measures to the environment by maintaining a healthy and pollution-free environment, noting the importance of passing legislation that will contribute to mitigating and preserving negative impacts on the environment.
His Highness also stressed the need to promote environmental awareness that serves the national agenda of the country and is in line with global trends to achieve sustainable development and encourage the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices as the main pillar for the development of joint environmental action. His Highness briefed the Crown Prince on the organizational structure of the authority that serves the decentralized structures, adopting the new tasks and responsibilities of the structure, as well as approving the estimated budget and approving the formation of a committee to run the work of the commission chaired by a member of the board of directors assigned. The meeting was attend by H.E. Salem Al Zuhami, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince and members of the Board of Directors of the Environment Authority, Engineer Mohammed Saif Al-Afkham, Director of Fujairah Municipality, Engineer Hassan Salem Al-Yamahi, Director of Dibba Fujairah Municipality, Engineer Ali Qassem, Director of Fujairah Natural Resources Foundation, and Engineer Saeed Ali Bin Awassh.
