Fujairah News; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince, commended the Fujairah Charity Association (FCA) for supporting the emirate’s underprivileged families. The association provides the deprived families with small scale productive facilities and businesses with the ultimate objective of turning them from recipients to self-dependant entities. Inaugurating the new FCA’s centre for training productive families, H.H. got first-hand knowledge about the program’s different sections and types of items produced by its member families.
Mohammed Saeed Al Ragbani, Chairman of FCA Board of Directors, said that the program has enabled many needy families to be self-reliant, thanks to the support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah and directive of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince. Adding that society started with supporting only two families in 2004 and today it has some 163 productive families that work in variety of businesses across the emirate. “Today we have 50 women tax drivers, 32 families have henna and beauty salons, 62 families have perfumes businesses, 5 have tailoring shops, 15 have handicrafts shops, 18 have restaurants that serve local cuisines and 17 have shops for ready-made garments,” he said. The new center provides training courses to hone the skills of members of the new productive families.
